Of eagles & new heights

"The Way of an Eagle" painting by Roberta Wesley

Though youths grow weary and tired,
And vigorous young men stumble badly,
Yet those who wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.
[Isaiah 40:30-31; NASB]

In stillness, waiting before God Almighty.
Searching the depths of my heart.
Calling to mind the things that made me feel "alive."
God. His Word. Worship. The dance. The marketplace ... new adventures!
The vision is now clearer. The identity re-affirmed. The call re-established.
I hunger. I thirst.
The journey continues.
New revelations. New adventures.
The purpose unfolds.
Poised to soar higher heights.
The destiny is certain.
An eagle 'mounts up' as it soars high into the sky, far above the plains below. When a storm breaks, the violent winds that lashes the earth also carry the eagle aloft to unscaled heights, above the storm clouds.
Desire the way of the eagle
Strong, courageous, and proudly independent.
Mount up with wings like eagles.
Free to roam the skies.
